Rome Health Community Forum Held

Rome Health held its community forum on June 26, 2024. The event was open to the public along with it being streamed Live to Rome Health's Facebook page. The event was put together to help keep the public informed on all the latest projects and changes that will be coming to Rome Health in the coming weeks and months.

The topics of the forum ranged from some of the latest accreditations and awards that the hospital has earned such as a U.S. News and World Report award for Best Nursing Home for Short-Term Rehabilitation as well as two American Heart Association Awards for Stroke and Stemi Referring. Rome Health has also been recognized by Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Program for Bariatric, Maternity Care and Spine Surgery.

Another topic that was discussed was Rome Health advancement in Robot Assisted Surgery. With this type of surgery becoming more the norm in the operating room, Rome Health is following the trend and moving forward with their program by investing in serval surgical systems. The latest is the da Vinci Xi™ Surgical System which helps to reduce incision sizes, provide faster recoveries, and puts less stress on the body during the procedure. The other system is the 7D Surgical Navigation System which is use for Spine Surgery. This robot uses scans taken of the patients body and create them into a 3D model that is then used by the surgeon during the surgery. This makes the surgeon incisions smaller, provides a faster recovery time and makes it shorter hospital stay for the patient.

Many other topics were discussed like the new construction project of the ICU and Kaplan Center for Surgical Services, Rome Health's new Gastroenterology program, more access to Primary Care providers, and information on the Growing Emergency Department volume.
