Rome Health has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
“We are proud to be recognized by the American College of Radiology for our expertise in MRI imaging,” said Medical Imaging Director Sharon Carson. “The ACR accreditation validates the training and experience of our radiologists and technologists who work together to provide diagnostic excellence for our patients.”
ACR accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging. It represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. During the accreditation process, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs are assessed.
Accreditation is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR practice parameters and technical standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in these fields.
The findings are reported to the ACR Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report that can be used for continuous practice improvement.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses a powerful magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to produce detailed pictures of the body's internal structures for neurological, vascular, musculoskeletal and breast exams.
