Rome Health is excited to announce the hiring of general orthopedic Surgeon, Martin Ross, MD, MS, MBA. Dr. Ross will be joining the orthopedic team at Rome Health Orthopedic & Sports Medicine located in Chestnut Commons.
Dr. Ross is coming to Rome Health from Mercy Health System of SE PA, located in Darby Pennsylvania. While there he was a general orthopedic surgeon in a multi-specialty group practice. He specializes in orthopedic surgery with a sub-specialty focus on fractures and dislocations, arthroscopy of the shoulder, knee, ankle and arthroplasty of the shoulder, hip, and knee.“I chose to come to Rome Health because I love what I do, but I just wasn’t enjoying the big city any more. Being at Rome Health, I plan to provide personal, directed care to the people of Rome and the surrounding communities.” Ross said.
Earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from SUNY at Buffalo, School of Medicine, he interned for general Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center located in Brooklyn, NY. After completing his internship Dr. Ross stayed on at Maimonides and took on an Orthopedic Residency. He then moved on to Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, CT, where he practiced for more than 20 years. “I have been an Orthopedic surgeon for years, mostly in trauma-like settings. But providing general orthopedic services can be handled very nicely in a community setting such as Rome.”
