Rome Health has joined with six other local hospitals to work together as a unified platform to support healthcare staff. In recent years, there has been an increase in aggression towards healthcare staff in the form of verbal and at times even physical abuse.
CEO's and representatives from 7 local hospitals, including Rome Health, gathered to say that this is not going to be tolerated any more and have started a new campaign called the Respect & Heal campaign. The goal of this campaign is the commitment from these local hospitals to continue to work together for the support and protection of frontline employees.
The Respect & Heal campaign is focused on 4 goals:
- All staff being treated with respect
- Zero tolerance of any threat to staff or patient safety
- Full enforcement of laws protecting health care staff
- The trust that patients and families want the same
AnneMarie Czyz, President & CEO of Rome Health responded to the new campaign; "As part of Respect and Heal, we support and will be planning a new cross-institution summit in 2024 to continue to share the best practices for staff safety."
The entire group from the Respect & Heal campaign want the region to know that no matter which hospital you enter as a patient or work in as an employee, you will given the respect that is expected by everyone and if a problem should arise that it will be handled in the same manner no matter which health care facility you are at.
