Rome Health earns national recognition for workplace safety
Rome Health has been nationally recognized for its commitment to help
injured workers regain their health and return to work.
Rome Health was one of only four businesses to earn the 2023 MEMIC Award for
Excellence in Injury Management. Nominated by Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy Insurance,
Rome Health is considered to be among the best of more than 20,000 MEMIC
policyholders. The MEMIC Group provides workers' compensation insurance to
employers with an emphasis on workplace safety.
Winning organizations collaborate with MEMIC and healthcare professionals to achieve
the best possible outcomes for workers injured on the job.
“Rome Health values its employees and utilizes MEMIC services to focus on the injured
employee’s return to health and eventual return to work,” said Rome Health Chief
Quality Officer Scott Burns.
This award reflects the collaboration of Rome Health’s colleagues and several Rome
Health Departments, including Human Resources, Risk Management, Employee
Health and Therapy. The hospital’s Return to Work Program provides its employees with light-duty
opportunities to limit time out of work. Work place injuries are reviewed to identify
measures that can be taken to minimize risks and avoid similar injuries from occurring.
MEMIC supports workplace safety and compassionate care of injured workers.
Annually, it recognizes business that create a workplace culture that focuses on safety
to reduce risk and lost productivity due to workplace injuries.
“We extend our congratulations to our team for their efforts to protect our colleagues
from injury and support injured workers in returning to work,” Burns said.
