Congresswoman Elise Stefanik visited Rome Health on Thursday afternoon. She along with Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente and the Mayor of Rome Jeffrey Lanigan took a tour of the hospital the from President | CEO AnneMarie Czyz.
The tour started in the new Medical Center which is located in the back of the hospital facing Black River Blvd. The Medical Center was opened in the fall of 2023. Representative Stefanik was shown the different practices that are home to the Medical Center such as Rome Health's Primary Care, Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Bariatrics, and Breast Specialists.
The tour continued to the Medical Imaging Center and then up to the 4th floor where they visited staff in the Maternity Wing and also visited the new Women's Surgical Center. Stefanik talked with many Rome Health staff members and learned how family is a very important aspect of the Rome Health culture. Each staff member shared a story and in one form or another explained how a family member also works for the hospital, or a family member was well taken care of by the staff at Rome Health.
At the end of the tour, Stefanik said "What an amazing hospital the Rome area has. From the nurses, staff, and physicians this hospital is an incredible community resource." She continued,
"We look forward to partnering with Rome Health to make health care accessible for this community."
